Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Manchester United legend laying the blame on a recent weight gain.Rooney stood in for Gary Neville on Monday Night Football alongside Carragher and host Dave Jones.

The former striker and Derby manager spoke candidly about football past and present as he and Carragher analysed Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.Rooney was recently inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame along with Palace manager and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, joining icons such as Alan Shearer and Steven Gerrard.

But Carragher noticed something that cracked him up when a picture of Rooney with his award came up on MNF.The eagle-eyed Liverpool legend asked host Jones, "Was he inducted today?" Looking a little confused but soon realising, Jones replied, "Because of the suit?", prompting laughs from Rooney and the other two before he attempted to defend himself."There's a reason behind that," Rooney explained. "Obviously over the last year I've put a little bit of weight on, it's the only suit that will fit me at the minute.

I have to get the most out of it!"Rooney also tabled some more suggestions of players to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, including former team-mates and rivals alike. Who do you think should be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame next?
