But he let his emotions get the better of him after trouble at the ninth. Having just bogeyed the eighth hole, the five-time Augusta National winner hit a wayward tee shot that sent him out into the trees.
Things then went from bad to worse as Woods saw his second shot roll agonisingly down from the green and back onto the fairway.
With frustration getting the better of him after watching his ball trickle off the green, the 46-year-old golf legend blurted out "f*** off" in an outburst that was captured by broadcasters.The comment caught Sky Sports by surprise, with commentator Andrew Coltart forced to apologise for Woods' offensive language.
