Six men have admitted being part of a brawl outside the Factory nightclub in Manchester City centre. Rugby player Joe Sharratt was hospitalised after being attacked outside the club back in December 2018.
He is now permanently deaf in one ear as a result and suffered two bleeds to the brain. Mr Sharratt, who plays rugby for St Helen's Academy, was out with his friend Leon Cooper on the night of December 2, 2018.
Mr Cooper was also taken to hospital following the attack, though he suffered no serious injuries, Manchester Crown Court heard.
Lee Clark, 42, Imran Ilyas, 41, Mohammed Saleem, 22, Javad Soliman-Bolagh, 25, Amjad Yasin, 38, and Gareth Carr have all pleaded guilty to affray.
