On a recent episode of the talent series, the music mogul fooled the Modern Family actress into believing she had shot him in the chest in a dangerous stunt gone wrong.
Enlisting the help of Ryan Stock and Amberlynn Walker, the 61-year-old took the the stage with an unwitting Sofia to assist the show's hopeful contestants.
The couple, who have previously gone viral with a botched crossbow stunt, set the scene for the prank, blindfolding the 48-year-old actress as a balloon was placed on Simon's head.
