Pub chain Greene King will serve up pints of their house IPA at coronation-era prices for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, meaning you can wet the whistle for just 6p.While 6p may seem like an arbitrary price for a pint, this is how much a brew cost in 1952 - the year the Queen ascended to the throne.

The offer is available at Green King Local Pubs and at Flaming Grill sites for one day only, tomorrow (Monday, May 30), and applies to pints of Green King IPA, reports The Mirror.

To grab a bargain brew, pubgoers will have to say the codeword "1952".Andrew Gallagher, marketing director at Greene King Local Pubs, said: "The Platinum Jubilee is a fantastic way for the UK to come together and celebrate our Queen and country, so we wanted to take our customers back to where it all began– 1952, a time when Vera Lynn ruled the charts and pints were only 6p."Some of our regulars may even remember watching the coronation back in 1952, although they may have been too young to enjoy a pint then."We can’t wait to see our customers enjoy this royally good deal on Monday, May 30, and look forwarding to celebrating the Platinum Jubilee in all our pubs across the bank holiday weekend."This jubilee celebration's mark the Queen's 70 years of service. To stay up to date with all the latest news, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here.Celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee will be taking place between Wednesday, June 2, and Sunday, June 5.
