Hibs midfielder was taken out of action back in August after symptoms of a mystery illness caused concern over his health. The attacking midfielder couldn’t even train as he underwent tests to get to the root of the problem that had left the Hibees without their talisman.
Eventually it was determined that Allan was suffering from hypertrophic cardio myopathy, which is a thickening of the heart’s walls that makes breathing difficult, causes dizzy spells and and extreme fatigue.
Once that was established, the slow and deliberate process of returning to training, then playing, began and resulted in a Hampden comeback in last month’s Betfred Cup semi-final.
