Scots urged to prepare for travel chaos as Storm Arwen moves in on the country

Scots have been warned of potential travel chaos tomorrow ahead of Storm Arwen descending on the country. The Met Office has issued an amber wind warning for eastern Scotland, which will be in place from 3pm on Friday to 9am on Saturday.

A further yellow warning for wind has been issued for the whole of Scotland from 9am on Friday and all day Saturday.Forecasters say that winds could pick up to highs of 75mph during the period of adverse weather conditions.

A yellow snow warning has also been issued for the Highlands, parts of northern Scotland, Tayside and Fife on Friday. The Scottish Government has urged drivers to prepare for disruption on the roads with winds expected to impact high sided vehicles tomorrow.
