An avalanche warning has been issued to Scots after Storm Barra brought blizzard conditions to parts of the country.Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team took to social media to warn of a 'high category four' avalanche risk.The Scottish Avalanch Information Service (SAIS) issued the alert for Northern Cairngorms.The warning is currently in place from 6pm on Tuesday, December 7, to 6pm on Wednesday, December 8.According to SAIS avalanche forecasters, the area has 'deep accumulations of unstable windslab' making it a high-risk avalanche hazard.They add that 'steep wind-sheltered terrain' will be particularly vulnerable to avalanches.
