The new Education Secretary has pledged to look at making the school day longer. Nadhim Zahawi said school days should be extended to at least six-and-a-half hours.
He told MPs there were some “excellent examples” that already run extended timetables to give pupils more time in class. READ MORE: It has been suggested that extending the school day will help children make up for lost learning time during the pandemic.
Speaking at education questions, Mr Zahawi also said “there is no place for anti-vaxxers harassing or coming anywhere near school leaders.” He also insisted the vaccine rollout for senior school pupils “continues at pace”.
