Police launched a large-scale drugs raid on hundreds of scandal-hit soldiers guarding the Queen close to her Windsor Castle home.
The joint military and civilian police operation comes after four Queen’s guards tested positive for cocaine after breaching Covid-19 rules at a boozy party.
As many as 200 soldiers from 1st Battalion The Welsh Guards were swabbed for drugs at their barracks. A joint team of 30 Royal Military Police and civilian officers were involved in the stop-and-search operation, along with a sniffer dog.
They tested wallets, bank cards and other possessions. Bank cards of five of soldiers revealed traces of Class A drugs – cocaine and ecstasy.
