Kian Bulmer had a baseball bat. The victim ran into a gated forecourt area but he was cornered because he could not get out and McGuinness and Dwayne Pedder ran after him.
McGuinness slashed him with the knife and Pedder hit him with a pole on the head and back in one blow.Police later spotted McGuinness and Pedder trying to get into Pedder's home in Eastgate and there was a confrontation.
The blood-splattered wooden pole was seized from behind a sofa. A golf club was also found, reports Hull Live.The victim later said in a statement that he had suffered pain in his hand and arm from nerve damage, causing numbness.
