Salford Royal hospital has reported no new deaths among patients with coronavirus for the fourth day in a row. NHS England said the total number of Covid-19 deaths at the hospital has remained again at 166.

Over the two weeks up until May 30, there were a total of four fatalities linked to coronavirus at the hospital - a tenth of the total in the final fortnight of April, when there were 40 deaths.

The statistics released by NHS England apply only to hospitals and do not include deaths in care homes or in the community. Patients treated at Salford Royal hospital will not all be residents of Salford, with many brought in from surrounding boroughs for specialist treatment.
