Sainsbury's employees have been told to use their annual leave on Christmas Day despite all stores being closed. The grocer, which is already facing criticism for its decision to trade on Boxing Day, said workers must use their holiday allowance on December 25.

It comes after retailers across the UK announced plans to close on Boxing Day to give staff quality time with friends and family in light of the five-day coronavirus break.
