David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English former professional footballer, the current president of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He retired in May 2013 after a 20-year career, during which he won 19 major trophies.

Ryan Giggs has revealed that he feared for his Manchester United future after enduring a rough patch during the 2002/03 campaign.

Giggs is widely regarded as one of the finest players of his generation and enjoyed a glittering spell at United which included 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League crowns.

But his heyday under Sir Alex Ferguson wasn't without its tough spells, and Giggs himself has admitted one that stands out is the 02/03 season.

Indeed, David Beckham's high-profile switch to Real Madrid at the end of that season, following a falling out with Ferguson, made Giggs question his future at Old Trafford.
