Gordon Strachan admits he "wonders what on earth he was doing" when he took a shot at Sir Alex Ferguson in his autobiography after the pair fell out.
The two Scots were together at Aberdeen when Ferguson rose to prominence as a manager. That is where the bad blood started as Strachan signed a pre-contract agreement with German side Cologne against his manager's wishes.
The pair would then ironically reconvene when Ferguson was appointed as Manchester United boss. Strachan though was shown the door at Old Trafford in 1989 - three years after Ferguson's arrival - with the former United boss saying in his autobiography that Strachan "couldn't be trusted an inch."
