Sir Alex Ferguson changed the course of Manchester United. The Red Devils have failed to top the Premier League since his departure and have struggled to consistently win major silverware under the likes of David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The legendary Scot walked away from the club in 2013 after lifting his 13th league title, but it appears as though he wasn’t open about his plans with some of those closest to him.Rene Meulensteen was a first-team coach at Old Trafford between 2007 and 2013 before leaving for Anzhi Makhachkala, and he has now opened up on how Ferguson’s decision impacted the club. "I wasn't aware of it, like many others and then obviously the news broke," Meulensteen told Manchester.
