Dwight Yorke says as a black former footballer he 'can't even get an interview' for a manager's job - even with the backing of legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
England and Manchester City star Raheem Sterling spoke out on Monday, demanding to know why white ex-pros get better managerial jobs than their black counterparts.
And now former United striker Yorke has opened up on the struggles of black former footballers trying to get coaching jobs, saying even the recommendation of the most famous manager in the world can't get him in the interview room.
Yorke said he applied for the manager's job at his former club Aston Villa, where he spent nine years as a player, scoring 73 league goals in 231 games.
