Rutherglen woman organises memorial night in memory of her 'absolute character' uncle

iOS - Android William (Billy) McDonald complained of feeling unwell on April 4 last year - the next day he passed away aged just 59.Despite COVID-19 restrictions, Billy’s friends and family lined the streets for his final journey to the crematorium.

But the family wished they could have done more to honour the much-loved character. Loving niece, Denise told Lanarkshire Live : “We didn’t get to celebrate Billy in the way we wanted to. “He was just an absolute character, he treated me like a daughter and everybody loved him.“My Nana, who has just turned 80, has lost her only son, and so we have decided as a family to hold a memorial night in his honour on September 4, which would have been his 60th birthday.“We had tried to arrange this.
