Russian spies have been accused of hacking into the agency responsible for the US's nuclear weapons stockpile. The Energy Department and National Nuclear Security Administration, which maintains the US's atomic weapons, said it had evidence that hackers had accessed its network, Politico reported.
It was targeted as part of a hacking attack which also affected at least half a dozen other US agencies. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, which had been managing the federal response to the hacks, had been "overwhelmed" by the numerous attacks, officials said.
