Nearly 50 years after its debut, the Rubik's Cube is ready for its big-screen close-up with a new movie in the works.Producer Ashok Amritraj's Hyde Park Entertainment is teaming up with Endeavor Content for a feature based on the popular toy, according to Deadline.Both Hyde Park and Endeavor are also teaming up with Glassman Media to develop a game show centering on the popular puzzle. Rubik's Cube was invented by Erno Rubik, a Hungarian sculptor and architecture professor, in 1974.Originally dubbed The Magic Cube, it was ultimately changed to the Rubik's Cube and licensed to be sold by Ideal Toy Corp in 1980.

The iconic Rubik’s Cube is getting its very own movie.
