Manchester United legend Roy Keane says he was excited by the prospect of fresh competition when Sir Alex Ferguson signed Juan Sebastian Veron in 2001.
The Argentine ace was a big-money arrival at Old Trafford nearly two decades ago. Ferguson smashed the British transfer record to secure his services from Lazio for £28m.
Veron never lived up to his price tag - although did make 82 appearances for the Red Devils. He was sent packing to Chelsea for a similarly hefty £15m in 2003.
