SIR Rod Stewart has revealed his brother Don died this week - two days before the death of the Queen. The singer, 77, said it had been "a devastating 48 hours" following the family tragedy on Tuesday.
Sir Rod, married to model Penny Lancaster, posted on Instagram and Twitter: "It has been a devastating 48 hours. "We lost my brother Don on Tuesday at 94 and today we have all lost Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 96." He went on to recall how the Queen, who passed away "peacefully" at Balmoral yesterday, had been "an unwavering presence" throughout his life and "a great unifier" - just like his older sibling.
Sir Rod, who performed at the Platinum Jubilee concert in June, added: "A shining star that will never fade in our hearts and souls.
