This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes has described the moment she felt terrified to take her children to school after she received horrifying death threats last year. The mother-of-three faced backlash and harsh criticism in 2021 after it was announced that she would be presenting a BBC documentary that focused on black women dying during childbirth.Things became uncomfortable for The Saturdays' singer when it was reported she had "replaced" Candice Brathwaite - a darker-skinned black woman - who was originally lined up to host the documentary, The Black Maternity Scandal.Although she stayed relatively quiet on the matter previously, Rochelle, 32, has now spoken openly about the situation when talking to Dragons' Den's Steven Bartlett on his podcast The Diary Of A CEO.Rochelle explained: "I didn't want to make it about me.

I didn't want to make it about the fact that actually I was scared to take my kid to nursery that day because I got death threats."Marvin did take my phone off me though, I love my phone at the weekend, he was like 'that's going off' and he literally texted everybody that works with me and was like if you need her I'm here but no more phone."As tensions online began to rise, Rochelle decided to turn off all of her devices to avoid the negativity however she still felt emotional. She added: "I turned everything off, I turned off comments and then I was like I'm not dealing with this, I'm just going to live my life and I literally cried for 48 hours and was devastated."The TV presenter then went on to explain how she originally handled the situation before she was faced with immense backlash. She recalled: "I announced that I was filming it and did a call out to say this is what we're filming and it.
