Reckless firebugs torch luxury bird hide at Scots beauty spot leaving shelter ‘gutted’

police investigation has been launched after heartless firebugs deliberately torched a bird hide at a popular Scots beauty spot.The award-winning shelter at Loch Leven National Nature Reserve, near Kinross, was set alight between 7pm and 8pm on Thursday, February 18.Reserve staff were left heartbroken after finding the badly charred remains of the shelter which offered stunning views across the water.Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the ‘reckless’ fire raising and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.NatureScot’s reserve manager Neil Mitchell said: “When I went out to the site this morning I was shocked and saddened to see what has happened to the hide.“It’s been completely destroyed and what’s worse is we believe.
