Raymond van Barneveld proposes to new girlfriend three years after splitting from wife

Darts legend Raymond van Barneveld is pretty used to hearing what checkout he needs, but now he requires a new wedding ring after proposing to his girlfriend on a trip to Paris.The veteran Dutchman popped the question to his partner Julia Evans on a visit to the romance capital of the world - and thankfully for Barney, she said yes.Barneveld and Julia 37, who is British, began dating in April 2019 not long after the break up of the star's 25-year marriage with Sylvia, 52.

His relationship with Sylvia had reportedly become strained due to his time spent away from home at tournaments, and in summer 2018, she was robbed at gunpoint while he was competing.

But now Barney, one of darts' great characters, has found love once again. He took to social media to share news of his proposal to Julia, 17 years his junior.Barneveld posted a series of images showing the romantic gesture, including the moment he got down on one knee and presented Julia with a ring.Julia made sure the ring was front and centre as the couple posed for a celebratory smooch before they enjoyed the beauty of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night.
