Rare £2 coin with design error sells for £255 on eBay – and you could have one

rare coin has sold for a fortune on eBay as collectors rushed to get their claws on it. The normal £2 consists of a yellow metal nickel-brass ring on the outside and a grey cupro-nickel disc in the middle.But the latest one to flog online is all yellow – which is what grabbed everyone's attention.It is dated £2009 and sold for £255 exactly with a £1.50 delivery charge.The rare coin racked up a huge 28 bids following a seven-day auction.Its selling price means the £2 exchanged hands for around a whopping 127 times its face value.Experts at Coin Hunter previously told the Mirror that this type of error is known as a "yellow" £2 coin.And if you find one hiding away in your pocket, it could be worth up to £500.But Coin Hunter says it is unclear as to how many of these error coins are in circulation.
