In football, versatility can sometimes be a curse. Those who are comfortable in more than one position in the field can often find themselves out of the team, perhaps due to their inability to specialise.
That could have been the case with Borussia Dortmund star Raphael Guerreiro, with his former manager Thomas Tuchel once saying: “Rapha is far too good to be fixed in one position”.
However, the Portuguese international is arguably having one of his finest seasons for Dortmund, having signed for the Bundesliga club almost four years ago.
Dortmund manager Lucien Favre, on the back of a disappointing campaign last term, decided to implement a 3-4-2-1 formation, with Guerreiro as the left wing-back.
