The greatest individual performance of Erling Haaland’s career could have come during his teenage years. The Borussia Dortmund striker put together an inspired display in Norway’s 12-0 win over Honduras at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and it remains just as impressive a year on.
Haaland netted nine goals to smash the previous record of goals in a game record of six, despite having failed to score in the opening two games of the tournament.
The 19-year-old has since left Austria for Germany and managed 13 goals in his first 14 games, taking his tally for the season to 40.
Alongside Jadon Sancho, Haaland is rated as one of the hottest prospects in Germany, and their manager Lucien Favre is glad to have them both at Dortmund.
