Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Rangers shocked. The shot-stopper insists the Poles can dump the Ibrox side out of the Europa League despite being underdogs.
Gerrard's side will square off against Lech, Benfica and Standard Liege following Friday's group stage draw.Former Twente Enschede keeper Bednarek, who saved a penalty in the play-off round as Lech beat Charleroi, believes his team shouldn't be underestimated.
He said: "We play Benfica, one of the biggest clubs in the world and Rangers who have the legendary Steven Gerrard on the bench as manager.
To meet the great Steven Gerrard will be an incredible experience for me. "Standard Liege may be not as well known, but they are a big club who fight for the title every year in Belgium.
