Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Jackie McNamara's view on Rangers may have surprised one or two people. The Celtic legend insisted the Ibrox side weren't a good team despite their comfortable Old Firm win on Saturday afternoon.Rangers controlled the game and although some might have been frustrated that they didn't go for more goals, they were never threatened and stopped Celtic playing their own game.
But McNamara felt that it was made more annoying by the lack of quality in the Rangers side, although he did praise Steven Gerrard for his organisation.
He had said: "“I think the frustrating thing is they are not a good side, they are not a good team but they were organised, the way he (Gerrard) organises them every game." But that's not something that Rangers' Europa.
