Radio 2 and 6 Music presenter Pete Mitchell has died at the age of 61. His death was confirmed by BBC Radio 2 today, as well as Virgin Radio – both stations where Pete had worked, with the presenter collapsing near his home in Stockport. ‘We are saddened to hear of the passing of the much respected music radio presenter Pete Mitchell, who has worked on both BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music,’ a message read from BBC on Thursday afternoon.
