The Queen has officially begun celebrating her Platinum Jubilee as the Trooping the Colour parade has kicked off at Buckingham Palace.
This year, the impressive display, which includes a parade from the military horses and a flypast, is being helmed by Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, on behalf of his 96 year old grandmother.
Ahead of the highly-anticipated event, which is poignantly timed with the monarch celebrating 70 years on the throne and is her official birthday celebration, thousands of Royal fans lined the Mall in the early morning sunshine to watch.
Wearing Union Jack flags and carrying plenty of party paraphernalia, the public were excited to kick off the long bank holiday weekend.
