Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow has been evacuated after a fire broke out at the site.Fire crews were called to the scene of a small blaze, which is believed to have been accidentally caused by a discarded cigarette, after the alarm was raised at the Govan campus around 9.20am on Wednesday September 16.Footage online showed patients and staff outside the main building alongside emergency services.

Nobody was injured in the incident.A number of fire fighters could be seen attending the incident, with the front of the site taped off from the public.The fire has now been put out with the fire service currently carrying out safety checks before allowing people back into the building.A spokesperson for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
