Pupil at high school in Coatbridge tests positive for coronavirus

dailyrecord.co.ukpupil at St Ambrose High School in Coatbridge has tested positive for coronavirus.The affected student at the North Lanarkshire school is now self-isolating having tested positive for the deadly bug this morning, Thursday August 13.It came after they displayed mild Covid-19 symptoms.NHS Lanarkshire has confirmed tonight that the school will remain open.The health board say as the child did not return to school, the risk to other children and teachers remains low.Work is now underway to identify close contacts of the individual.
They will be given public health advice and told to self-isolate.Gabe Docherty, NHS Lanarkshire Director of Public Health, said: “A positive COVID-19 confirmed case has been identified in a pupil at St Ambrose High.
