Pub landlord defends live music 'party' with crowd singing and dancing on tables

A pub landlord has defended hosting a live music event where a crowd were seen singing and dancing as they flouted social distancing rules.

Loud music was played for hours at The Royal Oak in Hooe, Plymouth, on Saturday. But landlord Lee Chambers claimed that the event under control and fully compliant with coronavirus regulations, reports PlymouthLive.

One resident, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "The Royal Oak have been having a live music event since the late afternoon - in the beer garden but clearly no social distancing in place. "We phoned the Royal Oak to complain about the noise and they argued with my partner on the phone saying 'they can do what they want as they have the license for it'.
