Lucy Draper announced the ban at The Compass Inn in New Forest, Southampton, on the pub's Facebook page and said the move was a consequence of parents failing to control their unruly children.
The new 'adults only' rules banning children under 12 except at Sunday lunchtimes was met with anger by some locals who threatened to boycott the pub, labelling it 'inconsiderate' and 'ridiculous'.
