Prince Charles 'accepted suitcase stuffed with £800k in cash' from Qatari politician

Prince Charles is believed to have personally accepted a lump sum of €1million (£861,000) from Qatari politician, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.It's alleged that Sheik Hamad made three payments to the Prince of Wales between 2011 and 2015, totalling €3 million – which is prohibited under the royal gifts policy of 2003, which states that individuals should be discouraged from offering gifts, i.e.

gifts of high monetary value.The former Prime Minister of Qatar who is nicknamed HBJ is believed to have handed the large amounts of money to Charles during private meetings.READ MORE: Prince Harry and Meghan forced Prince Charles to put plans to marginalise royals asideOne meeting is reported to claim that Charles allegedly walked out with around £858,070 in carrier bags for the royal favourite shop, Fortnum and Mason.While another meeting held at Charles' official residence, Clarence House in 2015 saw him apparently accept a suitcase filled with £861,000.The Times reports that advisers to the heir to the throne counted the money which was believed to be made up of €500 notes, which have now been discontinued.It's reported that Coutts, a private bank favoured by the Royals later collected the suitcase from his London pad following a request from the Prince's private team.Members of the royals are prohibited from accepting gifts of money connected to an official engagement under the royal gift policy act.However, they are allowed to accept a cheque as patrons, or on behalf of a charity.Charles' meetings, however, are not listed in the Court Circular which is published in regards to all engagements carried out by working members of the House of Windsor.It is not suggested that the payments received by the Queen's son.
