Prince Andrew spent £16,000 on a flight to watch the The Open Golf Championship in Northern Ireland at the expense of the Brit taxpayer, it has emerged.
The Duke of York flew in a private jet from Farnborough, Hants, to Portrush, in Northern Ireland last July.According to reports, there were 13 daily flight from London to Belfast during this time period, which would have been considerably cheaper.A source said Andrew was there “on behalf of his patronage” and arrangements had been made to "enable him to travel by scheduled flight."Prince Andrew was later stripped of his patronage following a car crash interview with Emily Maitlis for BBC's Newsnight in November.He was slammed for his failure to apologise for his friendship with paedophile.
