The Telegraph now reports that he is lobbying the Queen to be reinstated as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, and for his status as a blood prince to be restored. This could see him participate in official events alongside other working members of the Royal Family.

It is also claimed that he wants his daughters - Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie - to be made working royals.A source told The Telegraph: “The colonelcy of the Grenadier Guards was his most coveted title and he wants it back.

Having remained a Counsellor of State, he also believes he should be included at royal and state events.“Most importantly for him is his status as an HRH and ‘Prince of the Blood’ and he feels that should be reinstated and his position recognised and respected.”Previously, The Times reported that the Queen has no plans to appoint a new Colonel of the Grenadier Guards "to avoid a dagger to the heart" for him.The civil action brought by accuser Virginia Giuffre was settled in February this year, reportedly to the tune of £12million.Giuffre had accused Andrew of sexually abusing her when she was 17.

The settlement was not an admission of guilt and Prince Andrew denies the allegations against him.In May, The Telegraph reported the Queen's second son will join her for the Garter Day ceremony at Windsor Castle, due to take place tomorrow (June 13).It will be his first official outing since he appeared at the Duke of Edinburgh's memorial service in March.
