Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Prince William is "deeply caring" and will be a "safe pair of hands" for the Royal Family when he ascends the throne, according to an expert.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams made the comments ahead of the Duke of Cambridge celebrating his 40th birthday tomorrow (June 21).In gushing praise for the future King, Fitzwilliams referenced his visit to Israel and Palestine in 2018, during what was a politically delicate four-day tour.
At the time, then Israeli President Reuven Rivlin hailed William as a "prince and a pilgrim". He was also described as "Prince Charming" by the British embassy in Tel-Aviv.
Fitzwilliams exclusively told the Daily Star: "He is a safe pair of hands and was the only royal to pay an official visit to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian territories, an area which is politically so sensitive. "He recognises that there were glitches in their recent tour of the Caribbean, some of them however were unpredictable."Despite the difficulties of the Caribbean tour, which saw both Jamaica and Belize announce plans to pull out of the commonwealth while William and Kate Middleton were there, Fitzwilliams believes it's best that the Duke of Cambridge also becomes head of the association of nations.
