The Premier League is eyeing a start date for next season of September 12. The current campaign has massively overran due to the postponement of football and will finish months later than originally planned.
League chiefs have suggested three different start dates - August 22, August 29 and the seemingly favourable September date.
September 5 is not a possible date because it falls on an international break. Authorities were looking to start the season earlier with the campaign needing to conclude by May 16 due to the rearranged Euros next summer.
But the possibility of both Manchester clubs and Wolves being involved in delayed European competitions made that impossible.
