Premier League clubs have rejected allowing five substitutes to be made during games for a third time, following the latest shareholders meeting.
The move will infuriate leading bosses like Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who have all pleaded for the law to be changed to help protect the welfare of stars.The decision means English top flight football remains the only major league in Europe to stick with three substitutes.Clubs, however, have agreed in principle to introduce additional permanent concussion substitutions after the International Football Association Board (IFAB) approved a trial run of the idea.The trial is a result of IFAB's consultation with stakeholders and recommendations from their concussion expert.
