That loss means arch-rivals Manchester United, who currently sit in second place on goal difference, can move three points clear of Jurgen Klopp ’s side at the top of the table by winning their game-in-hand against Burnley on January 12.
And five days later United will have the opportunity to open up a six-point lead in first place when they make the trip to Anfield for a potential title showdown.
Yet according to the stats boffins over at Football Web Pages, neither United nor Liverpool will be lifting the Premier League title in May.
