The power cut is believed to have been caused by an ‘unexpected incident’ affecting the high voltage cables used to provide electricity to homes.
According to the Electricity North West website, the power cut has affected 290 customers. It was first reported at 4:52pm on Saturday (April 24).
The power cut is affecting properties with a M27 postcode - which includes the areas of Clifton, Newtown and Pendlebury. Electricity North West said it should restore power in the affected properties by 7:58pm.
