dailyrecord.co.ukAyr have been hit by a power cut this morning.Postcodes in the KA8 and KA7 areas have been affected.The alarm was raised at 9.17am with SP Energy Works confirming the massive outage affecting residents and businesses in the town.The energy firm say there was "no advance" warning of the power cut.Engineers have been sent out in a bid to restore power back to homes.A statement from SP Energy Networks reads: "There is a power cut affecting the KA7 and KA8 postcode areas of Ayr.
We had no advance warning of this and only became aware of it at 9.17am."Our control centre will attempt to reset the network remotely to restore power in stages, and we will also send our next available engineer to attend site.The Ayrshire Live app is available to.
