'Popular' man stabbed to death in the street had just become first-time dad

A man stabbed to death in the street has been named locally as Carl "Marblez" Moorhouse. Carl had recently become a father for the first time but was tragically stabbed to death in Leamington Spa in the early hours of Friday morning.

Tributes have been paid to Carl, who friends say died in hospital after the incident at the junction of Leam Terrace and Lower Leam Street.

His loved ones have set up a GoFundMe page in the 34-year-old's memory, CoventryLive reports. A balloon release was also held on Friday as a small group of friends gathered near the street where they grew up in Longford, Coventry.

A childhood friend of Carl’s told CoventryLive: “We grew up with Carl on Basford Brook Drive, in Longford, and we all hung around together.
