George Floyd: Attorney General 'hasn't ruled out' first degree murder charge

The Minnesota Attorney General leading the inquiry into the death of George Floyd says he has not out ruled first degree murder charges in the case.

Speaking on Good Morning America this morning Keith Ellison said he has not ruled out bringing first degree murder charges against white cop Derek Chauvin for the death of Mr Floyd.

When asked whether he had evidence to pursue a first degree charge Mr Ellison said: "I wouldn't want to comment on what I have or don't have - we've charged the highest ethical charge that we can." The comments came after Attorney General Ellison added a more serious second-degree murder charge against Derek Chauvin on Wednesday.
