Police are intent on speaking to Kenny Sansom once he is able to describe the incident that left him in a critical condition on Friday night.
The former Arsenal left-back, 61, had been unable to communicate for seven days – and doctors told his family they didn’t expect him to survive the night eight days ago.
Reports on Friday evening claimed Sansom had suffered a serious head injury after a ‘drunken row’ but details of the incident are sketchy.
