Police forces are turning away holiday makers who are flocking to UK beauty spots in increasing numbers. Despite the construction of air bridges to many popular holiday destinations abroad, this summer has seen more Brits staycation than during any recent year.
As a result popular spots have been beset with parking problems, blocked roads and anti-social driving, Bristol Live reports.
The West Country and Wales, with their picturesque valleys and sweeping vistas, have been particularly impacted. At Cheddar Gorge police are regularly closing the road which runs through the Somerset beauty spot because of the sheer number of cars.
