Police arrested a man at the school where he worked for performing a sex act over a camera at a '13-year-old girl'. William Aldcroft was a lunchtime assistant at the school when police arrested him over the obscene video chat in 2019, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Aldcroft has not been tried after he was found unfit to enter a plea due to subsequently being diagnosed with dementia. However, a jury asked to hear evidence from the case found he did send sexual communications to someone he thought was a child.
Only limited details of the case were heard at Aldcroft's sentencing hearing yesterday (December 20). The court heard he began messaging a police officer impersonating a 13-year-old girl, "Isla", in 2019.
